Astrology is the study of stars or the science of stars. The Ancient Greeks where some if the first people to study the stars. The traditional or culture has been passed down through the ages of time. The Ancient Greeks began around 3000 BC and it is still studied or practiced today.

Though the surfacing of the Christian Church had astrology at a stand still for awhile that is why a new name was given to the study. The name Christian Astrology was used in the 1600's when the church was first founded.

Most Americans that study Astrology are adult women. They make up the largest part of those who practice this belief. It is a belief system that the alignment of the stars makes you the person you were originally suppose to be though there are major events that change your personality traits. This is how most American see astrology today.

As time has passed more and more people are interested and practice astrology. Many Americans do not look at the practice as a science like many other cultures around the world. Many place like China use the placement of the sun to determine when to plant crops. Americans often use it as a form of entertainment. There are many who go to palm readers or psychics to amuse themselves.

When most Americans think of Astrology they think of the daily horoscopes that are in the

newspapers or magazines. Normally to find your horoscope you will look for a zodiac sign. A zodiac sign is determined by what month and day you where born. There are twelve different signs.

The horoscope is thought to be able to tell you what is in your future. The zodiac sign is also thought to be able to determine your characteristic traits as well as major events that might happen during your life time.

Chinese Astrology has become popular in America as well. The Chinese do not use the same signs as the traditional Astrology. The Chinese signs or names are animals. These are given depending on the year you where born instead of the month and day. The main purpose of Chinese Astrology is to find or achieve balance in one's life.

There are many different aspects to studying Astrology. There are also many different kinds of it. People practice different kinds but it all comes back to the alignment of the stars. The stars refer to the sun and planets as well as the stars. Constellations are also a major part in the Western Astrology that is practice more widely than any other kind.

Chinese and Indian Astrology are also commonly practiced. There are many different resources available for those who want to learn more about how it can affect your every day life. Though America was founded on Christianity there are almost just as many people who believe in Astrology as the one of causes of the events in our lives.
