The Benefits Of Business Blog Marketing
08/14/2009 - Business
If you have decided to create a blog for your business, it is best if it is written as messages from someone high up in the company. Although they may not be the ones actually writing the blog, the appearance of the CEO or President, gives the impression of someone who cares about their business.
Deciding on what you want to blog about is not that difficult. You can talk about new products or services, upcoming events, promotions within the company, employment opportunities, etc. You can make your blog as targeted or broad as you like, depending on the audience you want to reach.
For instance, if you want your blog to be read by other companies in your same niche for the possibility of doing business together, you may want to blog about what's going on at the corporate level. Discussing how the business is doing financial, new acquisitions, ideas for expansion, etc. This will catch the attention of other businesses who may be interested in joining forces with you.
If you want to catch the consumer audience, you want to focus on sales, new releases, what's coming up, etc. You can ask for ideas from your readers like what they would like to see. You can also create polls and surveys asking how satisfied they are with their experience with the company, what can the company do better, would they buy from you again? This is another tactic that shows that you care about your customers.
How to design your business blog
Unlike a personal blog with funky designs and music playlists, etc., you want your business blog to reflect your business style. If you have an upscale formal business, let's say a high scale boutique or an accounting firm, you want your blog to reflect your business. You can add your company logo and perhaps even products or services that you sell. What you don't want to do is add too many pics, videos, and other things that take away from what you really want your visitor to do; read your content.
Building a list
When creating your blog you also want to add an opt-in box. This allows readers to subscribe to your blog, so they can get updates from your company's latest news. This has a two-fold benefit in that you are building a list of potential customers who you can market to over and over again, and two, your readers can keep your business fresh in the minds of customers and potential customers. By sending them a monthly newsletter or free offers, even if they aren't ready to buy at the moment, they will remember you when they decide to make a purchase.
Regardless of the type of audience you want to target or even the products or services you sell, the only way to keep visitors coming back it to provide relevant, interesting content. You will have to update your blog regularly and keep the information fresh. Not only will your visitors love it, but will maximize the benefits of blog marketing.
