Self defense is the act of defending oneself against an attack or harm caused by someone else. In a court of law, one can claim the right of self defense if they are accused of assault and battery or homicide. If they choose to claim self defense, they must provide proof of provocation.

It is not considered self defense unless they were protecting themselves against an attack. It would be useful to have some powerful self defense products that were used to add to the defense case. Self defense weapons are not often used by an attacker. These weapons are used by those who want to protect themselves without seriously injuring an attacker.

Even in small cities there are possibilities of attacks. College campuses are especially targeted. Some college students do not think about carrying powerful self defense products to guard against an attack. This makes a college campus a prime place for an attacker to find a victim.

Luckily, most colleges and universities have security on the alert to keep campuses safe. However, some security officers may arrive after the attack has already taken place. It is much safer for a person to take safety into their own hands by knowing self defense techniques and carrying self defense tools.

There are many products a person can use for self defense. A favorite among powerful self defense products is stun guns. These guns temporarily disable an attacker without doing serious damage to their body. The shock from the guns will cause an attacker's muscles to overwork themselves in a short amount of time.

The extra work causes the attacker's blood sugar to turn to lactic acid, leaving the attacker with no energy to move their muscles. The electric current will not pass through the attacker to the victim. This leaves the victim with the opportunity to get away from the attacker.

There are many ways to defend yourself against an attacker. Even non-lethal self defense products are powerful self defense products. Pepper spray is a good self defense product to carry. Pepper spray can have a range up to 20 feet. The spray carries very irritating chemicals that can burn the eyes and skin.

Knowing basic self defense techniques and carrying self defense items can be the difference between a successful attack and being the one who got away. They are great for women and seniors too.

If you are in the market for a self defense product look for quality, effectiveness, and a biggie-LEGALITY. Stun guns are not legal in some states. Check with your local police department first before you get one.
